Flowers are a traditional and decorative component of weddings and soirées. Utilized in bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnières, headpieces, corsages, Flower Girl baskets, colourful backdrops, adornment for archways...the possibilities are endless. Not only do flowers come in all shapes and sizes, they come with different price tags too.

For the budget savvy, it is a smart idea to choose flowers that are domestically grown during the same season as the wedding. Don't opt for a bouquet full of tropical flowers, such as Orchids, if you don't want to spend most of your budget on flowers. Another money saving tip is to grow your own decorative blooms for the wedding. Choose hardy flowers that are low maintenance and easy to grow. Some beautiful options are Pansies, Tiger Lilies, Marigolds, Cacti, and Peonies. Keep in mind that the lower the required maintenance for the flower of choice, the greater the chance for success.

Incorporating flowers that have symbolism make terrific centerpieces at weddings. Symbolic flowers remind your wedding guests of the beauty and meaning of love and marriage. The rose, for instance, is primarily known as being "the Flower of Love." Although each colour of rose has a different symbolic translation, the topic is usually love. While roses may symbolize love, the Tiger Lily symbolizes wealth and prosperity. On the other hand, Orchids not only stand for love they also stand for beauty and elegance. The symbolism for colour and use of certain flowers, however, changes with different ethnic backgrounds. As the Seasons change, so do the variety of flowers. Summertime offers a wide range of flowers to choose from!
