Manzanita Trees
A Manzanita is a small evergreen shrub or tree typically found on the west coast of North America from British Columbia, down through Washington, all the way to Mexico.
With stiff twisting branches and smooth orange or red bark, as well as its unique hardness, the Manzanita is swiftly becoming one of the must have wedding accessories for discerning brides. The shrub or tree is used as decorative accents, centerpieces, and useful holders throughout their weddings.
With over 60 different species of Manzanita's to choose from, chances are the perfect one exists out there for you. Available in their natural bark colors, or sandblasted and optionally painted to match your wedding theme and colors.
Place them "planted" in a box or in a stand painted to match your theme. Use a styrofoam or florists foam in the planter to secure the branches, or mix up some plaster of paris, and fill the planters before adding the tree or individual branches. Your preferred method will be directly related to the size of your tree and the length of its branches. Some Manzanita's can even be purchased pre-painted and pre-secured in a box or with a stand.
To decorate, drape them with flowers such as roses, calla lilies, hydrangeas or orchids, or dangle from their branches a vast array of objects from small Chinese paper lanterns, origami creations, or glass votive holders lit for a dramatic lighting display.
To make a Manzanita tree truly sparkle, drape it from top to bottom in dazzling crystals that come in a wide variety of colors to match your wedding palette. Place a light in the bottom of your container to make their sparkles truly shine.
Not only do they make dramatic altar pieces, and centerpieces, Manzanita trees can also be used to hold your escort cards, decorate your buffet tables, hold the wishes of your friends and family as a wish tree. Dangle delightful containers filled with chocolates or candies for guests to pick off the tree as their wedding favor.
The decorative ideas with Manzanita trees are truly endless, limited only by your imagination or that of your wedding decorator. Available as DIY projects they can also be purchased completely decorated and ready for use. For a dramatically different decorative accent, look to the spectacular Manzanita Tree.
