Father / Daughter Dance Extravaganzas

Traditionally, the Father/Daughter dance is usually a waltz, with emotional lyrics that bring tears to the eyes of everyone concerned. Today's fathers have played larger roles in their daughter's lives than ever before, roles that most traditional songs cannot convey.

They have coached little league, and soccer, helped with ballet buns, helped in the creation of Halloween and school play costumes and so much more. To reflect the evolution of fatherhood, revolutionize the choice of music you make for that ever-important dance, even if it doesn't have the makings of a waltz. Why not let Dad have a little fun, by letting him strut his stuff during that dance, to a tune of his own choosing that may have a little more personal meaning than some of the more traditional choices.

Most of today's brides will have fathers who grew up listening to the music of the 60's and 70's. Let Dad choose a fun fast paced song that has meaning to him. It may be the song he danced around the living room with you as an infant. It may be the traditional song you played on road trips or the song that he taught you how to do the Monkey to.

Whatever the song, choose it because it's a part of your shared past, no matter how crazy or boppy it may be.

For some real fun, add a few choreographed moves for the delight and amusement of your wedding guests, never mind the fun you'll have with your Dad as you make the time to practice your moves together before the wedding.

As a special memento of your dance, incorporate your song and the type of music you chose into a wedding favor CD that guests can take home with them. From Reggae to Rap, Bob Seger to Bob Dylan, take a walk on the wild side and let Dad have a chance to play the part, during the Father/Daughter dance.
