The Perfect Pear
Looking for a wedding theme that's a little different for a summer or early fall wedding? Why not look to the perfect pear. Not only a great way to make a play on words, this tasty summer-time fruit also offers bridal couples a host of unique one of kind accessories to choose from to make their day special.
Graphically, images of pears, matched with the phrase "The Perfect Pair" can appear on all your wedding stationery from your invitations to your escort tags, and even appear on your favor tags, bags or ribbon.
Should your wedding have an environmental or organic feel to it, you may want to do away with some of your stationery items completely, such as escort cards, and replace them with real miniature pears lined up with small tags as the way to help your guests find their assigned tables.
To mix the color of the signature green color of the pear into your wedding accessories, look to flowers, such as Orchids or small green berries in the same shade to accent your wedding and bridesmaid bouquets, your boutonnières, your altar arrangements and even your centerpieces.

Once guests enter your reception area, instead of the standard guest book, greet them with a pear-shaped jar where they can leave their wishes and thoughts for you written on small pieces of paper that are placed within the jar. At a later date, after you and your groom have had an opportunity to read those wishes, you can either choose to store them inside and use the jar as a decorative accent, or integrate the jar into your household as a cookie jar for a long-lasting and useful remembrance of your wedding day.
A pear-flavored buttercake with a caramel-vanilla buttercream filling and pear-flavored rolled fondant topped with pear-shaped marzipan decorations, may for some be carrying the pear idea too far, but for others it's a wedding cake made in pure pear heaven.
While a pair of pears is an obvious choice for a wedding favor, know that there are many pear-shaped objects that will equally fill your need for a pear-themed favor, including pear shaped candles, pear shaped salt and pepper shakers, and mini versions of the pear-shaped jar that greeted guests when they entered, that can be filled with chocolates, mints or other sweet treats.
As a bridal couple you are the perfect pair, so why not make that perfection the theme of your day with a pear perfect theme.
