Go Gocco for Your Invitations

Hardcore wedding DIY'ers (Do It Yourself'ers), are always looking for new ways to avoid the high cost of stationery printing, whether engraved printing or the even more expensive letterpress style.  While a computer printer can do the basic job of creating your invitations, most will agree it lacks the professionalism and artistic quality that an engraved or letterpressed invitation has.

That is why a number of instruction videos, tutorials, books and websites are popping up entirely dedicated to the art of printing, with a focus on wedding stationery.  And you don't have to be an expert to do it.

A great option that has seen widespread popularity throughout Japan where they are as common among the DIY-scene as sewing machines are here, is a handy little device known as the Gocco.  Combining the ink selections of silk screening with the text ability of letterpress the Gocco is an easy to use, portable printing device that has the added benefit of being able to fit in small spaces (unlike the larger silk screening or letterpress operations). Fast becoming the best way for bridal couples to create their own personalized printed invitations for a fraction of the cost. Using this system, all that you need to create your own one of a kind designs are your paper and a carbon printed design that can be gleamed from any photocopy.

Not only can you make all of your own wedding stationery, you can also personalize your own wedding favor boxes or bags, or print right on your wedding favors themselves.  Some will even go so far as to print their personalized details on other accessories as well, from linens to guest books.

Whatever printing route you go for, if you want the stylized look of a professionally printed invitation with a cheaper cost you may have to go gocco.
