All Jarred Up
Mason Jars are neither a new item nor a stranger to the wedding scene, but as creative brides and wedding planners know, they can be so much more than just an inexpensive container for flowers.
Available in a variety of sizes from regular retail outlets, local second hand stories, or sometimes if your lucky, right from your grandmother's cellar. Mason Jars are now available in a number of different colors, the perfect way to ensure a perfect match with your wedding theme colors.
If used as an alternative to vases, alternate the size and shape of a number of different Mason Jars, collect them all together in the center of your table and you have the makings of a beautiful centerpiece. Use a single large Mason Jar for a center vase, and a series of smaller jars surrounding it as votive candle holders, and now you have a lighting effect that can carry over into evening.
Another lighting use for Mason Jars at an outdoor wedding includes wrapping their rims in sturdy wire and suspending them from the ceiling of your outdoor terrace roof, tent, or lacking a covering, simply suspend them from shepherds hooks strategically placed around the perimeter of your reception location, or from smaller hooks planted in the center of your tables. If available, they can even be suspended from nearby trees, as long as its leaves are not too dry.
Mason Jars also make great containers for submersed flowers or fruit, such as lemons or limes, or even herbs such as rosemary, mint, and basil. Allowing your centerpieces not only to look beautiful but smell wonderful too.
If hosting a candy buffet for guests to choose from as their wedding favor, not only can you display your candy choices in great array in a variety of Mason Jars, you can also give your guests jars personalized with your wedding details, for them to place their candy choices in.
As many ideas as you can come up with that require containers, Mason Jars can fit the bill. They are crisp, clean, inexpensive and serve in a wide array of capacities.
So what are you waiting for, grab some Mason Jars and get all jarred up.
