Home is Where the Heart is
Heralding the ultimate in charm and romance, as well as a practical money saving solution, the search for the perfect wedding venue can sometimes end outside your own front door.
Whether you choose the home you currently live in, your family home, or even the home of a friend, choosing to have your wedding in-home is a very different affair from those that are planned to take place out of doors.
Without the added space, in-home weddings, depending on the size of the home, must remain relatively small and are best suited to smaller more intimate gatherings between 10-50 people.
When deciding on whether or not to hold an in-home wedding, addressing your guest list will help you visualize how that number of people would work their way through your home, as well as where they will gather to watch the ceremony. For some homes, one of the best places to hold the ceremony is in the front entryway, with guests able to watch the proceedings from the vantage point of stairs, or an upper railing. You can also choose to empty out the day-to-day furniture of a large living, family, or dining room, and be married in front of a roaring fire, or a special alcove lighted with romantic candlelight.
Depending upon your priorities, one of the best reasons for hosting your wedding in-home is the very real substantial costs savings that can result. By saving the costs of paying for a ceremony or reception venue, you can often splurge on items you might not have otherwise been able to afford. A remarkable dress, exquisite catering, or amazing photographs can all be within your reach simply by opting to hold your wedding in a place that holds a special meaning in your heart anyways.
The saying home is where the heart is, will never be more true than when you choose to hold your wedding there.
