Covering the Music

Entertaining your guests has always been high on the priorities of a bridal couple, and today's hottest trend is to provide them with a cover band that will keep them on their feet all night long.

Matching the style of your wedding to the style of your music, cover bands can include music that covers an era, a culture or a particular style of music. From the fun and dancy music of the eighties, to the distinctive sounds of classic rock and sultry swing, or a Latin band with it's sensuous rhythms, your cover band can meet the theme of your wedding on variety of different levels.

If you are looking for an evening of elegant sophistication, a band that covers the era of swing and the forties, a classical ensemble or a simple jazz trio can add the perfect ambiance. If your theme is instead set for an all night party, heavy metal, eighties dance music or a Latin salsa band will bring out the dancer in everyone. For a more offbeat wedding look to the steel drums and reggae of the Caribbean, the pipes and drums of a Ceilidh band, or the fan-inspired music of a tribute band that can showcase the music of all-time favourite band.

When choosing a cover band, opt for one that will bring the most fun to your wedding. First and foremost make sure that you choose the type of music that you as a couple will enjoy the most. Choosing music that will inspire you and your groom to get up and out on the dance floor will automatically inspire the rest of your guests to follow suit.

One point that needs to be made when making the decision to choose a band that performs one singular style of music, is to think about the song you would like to dance to as your first dance as husband and wife. Does it fit with the style of music your chosen band plays? If not, you may wish to bring in a recorded version of the song of your choice, allowing the cover band to do what it is they do best.

Choose your cover band with an eye to your overall theme, and great fun will be had by all and especially you.
