Showing up in Style

While the majority of the attention on a couple's wedding day is usually given to the bride and her attire, grooms today are starting to garner equal attention with their own fashion wedding statements.

Stylish smart suits and splashy colourful ties as well as playful pre and post-wedding tees and caps, mean that a groom today doesn't just show up to his wedding, he shows up in style.

While the white tuxes of the past are thankfully not making a resurgence, white is still making its presence known amongst modern day groom's with white ties both straight and bow styled and a return to the formal white vest.

Suits and the colors grooms are wearing, are also in the midst of a huge transformation. No longer are the traditional choices of black and navy the first choice of modern day grooms. Instead they are looking more to tans and grays as their color of choice for summer weddings.

For winter weddings those grooms who are stylishly daring and slightly offbeat are even dabbling in a number of other colors including plum, hunter green or rust. Paired with a traditional black trouser, they allow a groom to make a statement without it coming back to haunt him years later when he looks back at old photographs.

Of course if your groom is not quite ready to stand out with quite that much color, there are still ways he can make his own statement primarily in his choice of ties or other accessories such as a pocket square vest or shoes.

While his groomsmen may be dressed in suits that feature a brightly colored solid tie, the groom can make his proclamation with a patterned, striped, or dotted tie of the same color scheme.

If using a pattern, just as a bride's bouquet is repeated often times in the colors and flower choices of the centerpieces, a groom's pattern can be repeated in stationary, tablecloths, and even favor boxes or bags.

Gone are the days when grooms just showed up for their weddings, today they don't just show up, they show up in style.
