Inviting Color
If plain white invitations are not your style why not jazz things up a bit with colored parchment?
Whether using a fun and flirty combination such as tangerine and lime, or the more regal and elegant combination of burgundy and gray, colored invitations with contrasting script are the latest hot trend in bridal stationary.
If hosting a spring garden party or summer soiree-styled wedding, choosing bright and bold colors like yellow, pink, purple or turquoise or other brightly colored parchments lets guests know to expect a laid back casual affair where the focus is on fun. Pair that same purple with a gold accent and script and your tone can change considerably.
Even if you're looking for a more traditional wedding, but still want to veer away from plain white invitations and stationary, colors can be formatted to implement a simple role reversal. Instead of black script upon a white background, choose white script printed on a black background for a striking yet elegant effect.
If black is too stark for your tastes, brown can also be used to signify elegance. Pair it with a light pink for a strawberry and chocolate appearance, or light blue for a cool icy contrast, to give guests the image of sophisticated elegance.
If you're wedding has more of a classic feel to it, the warmer tones of cream, combined with the warmth of a soft brown script, can let guests know that simple paired down elegance is the theme of the day.
Once set with your color choice for your invitations, be sure to carry that choice throughout the rest of your stationary items, including all of your programs, menus, escort cards, table numbering cards, and any other item of stationary to provide a unified and cohesive look and feel.
Classic, traditional, modern or spirited, color can be a big part of all your wedding accessories and favors. Put away that boring old white, and invite stationary with color into your wedding to reflect the true nature of your wedding theme.
