Library Themed Weddings
For the bookish types who would much rather be reading than ironing out the many details that come with planning a wedding, why not incorporate your love for each other and your love of reading into a literary wedding celebration.
While few libraries exist that will allow weddings to be hosted among their hallowed halls, a few older more ornate libraries have front entranceways and vestibules that are the perfect location for a wedding ceremony or photos. You may even be able to convince the local librarian to allow your entrance into the library for some memorable literary-themed photos amongst the stacks. While a literary themed location may be difficult to source, you can still incorporate your love of the literary life into a number of your wedding accessories.
Rather than numbering your tables in the traditional manner, you can name your tables after books, especially love stories. Each escort card could correspond with their table through a quote, or a character name, and each table could hold the book in question, a brief synopsis of what the book is about, and excerpts from the book at each place setting.
Why not have your favorite quote etched upon your invitations, or piped in icing upon your wedding cake. Your love of the written word can shine with a little literary imagination. Wedding favors are another accessory that can follow your literary theme. Give guests bookmarks with your wedding details engraved or stamped upon them. Quill pens paired with personalized notepads are another great literary favor idea.
Guests books and wedding programs can also lead themselves to your literary theme. Ask guests beforehand to contribute to your collection of quotes, that you later bind together to form their own book, or create a novel out of your programs. Itemize each "chapter" with the events details, a prologue outlining how you met and an epilogue outlining your future plans.
Instead of pulling your nose out of a book to deal with wedding details, why not make the details all about the books, and possibly entice a few of your guests who might not otherwise be so inclined to pick up a book of their own.
