Short and Sweet
Most images showcasing bridal hair styles will feature elegantly swept up-do's, created from shoulder-length hair, but what about the large number of brides with short hair that do not fit the traditional bridal image?
For those with short hair, have faith, there are still many things you can do with your hair to give it that elegant and polished look we all want to have for our weddings without having to pin, curl or hairspray your locks into styles that will render you unrecognizable.
Rather than waltzing up the aisle looking anything but like your normal self, embrace your short locks and make the most of them. One way to do so is by utilizing accessories as a way to dress up short locks. Choose an ornate barrette or clip to hold hair off your face, or hold hair in place with a pretty hair band. Place a tiara high on the crown of your head to add volume and height, and attach a veil or net for dramatic effect.
If looking for less romance and more drama, you might want to accessorize with crystals or feathers worn either as sidepieces or as headpieces with pizzazz. Small pillbox or cocktail hats also set off short locks elegantly, and provide the height and volume that up-do's do for brides with longer hair.
Another option for brides looking to have a special "wedding" look without altering their appearance too much is to style their hair similar to the way they would normally, but to add highlights or lowlights to punch up their hair color. Just be sure to do any coloring weeks in advance as a possible trial run, in order to avoid certain coloring disasters.
For all your possible short hair wedding looks there really is only one rule of thumb to remember: just like your wedding toasts keep it short and sweet!
