Finding The Perfect Dress

Here it is, the day you will find the dress that you've been dreaming of since you were a little girl. It will be the perfect dress, not too fluffy, not too plain. It will fit you like a dream and make you feel like a princess, and all for a price that's within your budget. You hope.

Shopping for a wedding dress is a very emotional experience. If you've already decided on the perfect type and style and have a picture in your mind of what the perfect dress will look and feel like, make sure you communicate that to your bridal shopping buddies before you begin the quest, otherwise strained relationships may occur.

If you're more easy going and open to suggestions, make sure your entourage consists of at least one person whose style and elegance you admire, so that you have a good variety of well-wishers helping you choose.

A few tips will help that venture into the foray go a little smoother.

When choosing your entourage insist that only a few special chosen ones assist you on the quest. Your Mom, your Maid of Honor and/or anyone else whose opinions you respect are always good choices.

Start early and DO NOT plan to buy today. Your initial search should be far removed from a final purchase, unless there are some serious time constraints. Bring along some water to keep you hydrated and in shop-ready mode. You potentially could be trying on 20 or more dresses, an experience that sounds fun, but eventually gets quite tiring. Staying hydrated helps with lagging energy.

Other ways to combat energy loss is to wear easy on/off clothes, with elastic waistbands, zip off tops, and slip off shoes. The easier, the better when changing constantly in a number of different stores.

Don't forget to make time for lunch or a snack. You don't have to fill your stomach, but making the time to stop and have a small bite to eat, will give you a chance to regain some energy, and give you and your entourage a chance to reflect on all the dresses you've seen thus far.

If you are using magazines to help you shop for styles a quick tip to remember is that many times gowns can be searched for using the page number of the magazine it is in. So make sure you bring the entire magazine with you, so that the shopkeeper can search by magazine and page number.

When shopping for your wedding dress, above all else, have fun. Buying your dress sets the tone for the rest of your wedding. Choose elegant and all the wedding accessories and favors follow, the same goes for simple, classic, or ultra modern. Remember, it doesn't have to be the perfect dress. It just has to be perfect for you.
