Three Ways to a Fabulous Fall

If you are looking to host a fall themed wedding, but want to steer clear of pumpkins or other Halloween oriented items to decorate your reception tables, look to a range of fall inspired color palettes from classic to contemporary as your sources of inspiration.

For a classic fall theme, begin with a color palette of traditional fall colors that include red, brown, orange and yellow. With the woodsy feeling these colors evoke table linens in various shades of brown accented with orange and yellow napkins, plates, chargers and other accents, including orange colored glassware.

Centerpieces reflecting your classic color choices can include tall willow branches surrounding by fresh Fall flowers such as gerbers, sunflowers, dahlias and calla lilies or an assortment of colored candles encased in ceramic pots, to reflect that earthy feel.

For a table decoration that doubles as a wedding favor, place leaf shaped and decorated sugar cookies at each place setting within a clear plastic box or cellophane wrapped to let their color shine through.

For those that want a more contemporary feel to their wedding theme, colors such as the deep jewelled toned purple of eggplant paired with the warmth of gold to epitomize the softer rays of the sun that occur in Fall create a palette that is simple and elegant yet still reflects the mellowness of the season.

Golden chargers atop deep purple linens give your tables a richness and elegance that can be carried over into other reception table accessories, in the form of candles or candlestick holders, feathered and crystal centerpieces, or gold rimmed glassware.

Wedding favors can also easily be incorporated into this rich palette with gold favor boxes wrapped with eggplant colored ribbons and filled with any number of treasures from maple flavored chocolates, to leaf shaped candles.

The splendor of Fall in all its majesty makes for a fantastic backdrop for a fall-themed wedding. Whether you choose a contemporary palette or a classic one, the warmth of the season is sure to seep through.
