Wedding Shoes that Fit the Bill
Every bride wants to be at her utmost on her wedding day, and that usually entails wearing an elegant shoe with a heel. Before you choose the shoes of the day, take a look at some guidelines that will ensure you have got the right fit.
The perfect wedding shoe will need to be many things, and comfortable should be high on the top of the list.
It's important to remember that the shoes you choose will be worn for an inordinately long period of time. Walking down the aisle, standing at the altar, shaking hands in a reception line, posing for wedding pictures, and dancing the first dance together, there will be little opportunity for you to find a chance to get off your feet.
Now is not the time to try a stiletto heel if you have not regularly worn them before. The unsteadiness of a too high heel can turn a beautiful day into a walking disaster.
If added height is something you are aiming for, try a platform shoe or a kitten heel; a little extra height with a lot less discomfort.
Try flat if it suits your dress or can be hidden by the length of your dress. Don't forget that a satin ballerina shoe makes a beautifully elegant alternative.
For the type of shoe, a silk or a satin fabric sheen is traditional, but with so many styles out there to choose from, the traditional accessories can easily be veered from in favor of one that suits your personal style from lace granny boots, to strappy heels.
A lot of brides choose to wear a high heel and bring a flatter alternative with them should they prove to be too uncomfortable as the day wears on. The problem with this solution is that your dress will have been fitted for the larger heel, and will drag unseemingly when the shorter heel is worn.
Make sure that when you are shopping for your wedding shoes, that you shop towards the end of your day. Feet swell over the course of a day, and you'll want to try on shoes when your feet are at their largest.
Choose your shoes with the care that you choose your dress. Even if they won't be seen, you will know that you have the best fit by how you feel at the end of the day.
