A Wedding Hair Experience
Hair can make or break a bridal look. Follow the basic tips below to ensure that when looked back upon both the experience and the style can favor the word “wow”.
When trying to decide on which style you prefer, make sure to look through as many magazines as you can to find ideas of styles that appeal to you. Once found, book your hairdresser months in advance for both a trial and for the actual wedding day itself.
If you are having a summer wedding and are booking your entire bridal party at once, expect to put a deposit on the booking. Too many no shows in the past have made deposits a new requirement.
For your hair trial, book the appointment approximately two weeks before the actual wedding day. An amount of time that gives you ample opportunity to find the style that suits you best, and allows the chosen style to remain fresh in the stylist’s memory.
To aid the stylist and yourself in remembering what style was agreed upon, bring your digital camera to the appointment. Be sure to get photos of every side and angle of the style since photos are the best way to make sure that the stylist can recreate your selected hairstyle.
If you have the opportunity once the trial is complete, try your wedding dress on afterwards to ensure your newly created style suits your dress.
On the wedding day, make sure you are on time for your appointment. A rushed stylist is not at his or her best, nor will his or her work be. Most updo’s take at least 90 minutes. Be sure to make allowance for that amount of time as well as a little extra.
Wash and dry your hair prior to the hair appointment. This ensures that the stylist is spending her time actually styling your hair, not just prepping it for styling.
Wear a button up or zip up shirt to the salon, so the finished product is not ruined when the dress is donned.
Finally, if you have invited your stylist to your wedding, make a point of thanking them somewhere during the evening. If you love your hair and you look especially beautiful, show your appreciation to a member of the team that helped you achieve that special look on your special day.
