Sweet Candy Centers
For those looking for a way to create wedding centerpieces that look oh so sweet, look to the tasty temptations of a candy centerpiece.
Whether because of an aversion to flowers, a dedicated sweet tooth, or a desire to create more business for your local dentist, candy centerpieces can be made to fit any theme from bright and colorful to stately and elegant. The secret is in the candy choice and its presentation.
If bright and colorful is your aim, glass vases filled halfway with flavored and color coordinated jellybeans topped off with oversized lollipops that host a sticker or a tag filled with wedding details, makes for an easy, inexpensive, yet still visually dramatic centerpiece that will leave guests with their own sweet tooth more than satisfied.
If looking for a more subdued and elegant centerpiece that still utilizes candy as its center-point, wrap candy from chocolates, to candied almonds or any small individual sized morsels in pastel shaded crepe paper. Wrap them in typical bon bon fashion with ribbon decorating the two ends, top them with a personalized sticker, and place them in a glass dish with crepe paper flowers to accent.
Mints, chocolate, hard candies, jellybeans, caramels (particularly good paired with apples for a fall wedding), and lollipops (because of their vast array of sizes, colors and shapes), all make for amazing centerpieces when paired with some form of glass container.
Wrap ribbons around your glass containers, surround them with candles or foliage, or place them upon colorful paper or fabric swatches and you will have a centerpiece that can't be beat.
In the new trend of creating candy buffets as favor stations where guests can choose their own, another option is to place a variety of shape and sized glass containers filled with candies on each table as your centerpiece. Provide scoops with which to serve them, and favor boxes or jars in which to take some home, and you have individual table candy buffet centerpieces that can be personalized to fit each table of guests.
There is nothing sweeter than candy as a wedding favor, and nothing better than to see it sweetly and creatively displayed as your centerpieces.
