Good Evening
As the look for the perfect romantic setting for their wedding venue, many bridal couples now look to the twinkling stars and a bright full moon to provide them with ambiance at an outdoor evening ceremony, instead of the traditional morning or afternoon timeframes.
Selecting a time of year when temperatures are usually mild, an evening wedding offers couples not only a unique twist on a common theme, but also the chance to follow their ceremony promptly by their reception, without the usual lag time in-between, all the while making good use of the natural ambient lighting present. Ambient lighting that can also perfectly hide any slight imperfections the venue may have, that by light of day might be glaringly obvious.
When hosting an evening wedding, the paramount concern for both you and your guests is comfort and well-being. You will need to find ways that protect you from any evening chill and from any problems arising out of a darker location.
A cozy touch that doubles as a wedding favor should a chill descend, is to provide each of your guests with a shawl or throw, personalized with your wedding details, thus not only catering to their comfort but also providing them with a useful and thoughtful favor.
When choosing accessories, such as shoes, be sure to take in your surroundings and choose appropriately. If you want to uphold the elegant look of a high or spiked heel, test them walking down the aisle to make sure that you do not sink into the lawn with each step. If so, you may either want to provide yourself with a mat or runner to walk down the aisle, and/or a platform to stand on to say your vows, or you may want to look to a more earth friendly shoe.
Regardless of what sized heel you choose, another good idea is to practice walking down the aisle in the evening, so that you can identify any darkened areas that may pose a problem to you or anyone else walking, and rectify it before the ceremony arrives so as to ensure that no one takes a tumble in the dark.
Even your dress should reflect your outdoor evening status. While typically a more formal occasion than a sunny afternoon, an even wedding dress should reflect that formality, with an evening styled gown. Here again if a walkway or mat to walk on is not provided, an elegant long gown with a train, has the potential to drag in the dirt, or to trip you up in the dark, a problem easily solved with a shorter tea length gown that can alleviate the problem while still remaining elegant.
An evening outdoor wedding has the potential for romantic elegance to be created no matter where the venue is located. Shrouded by dark, illuminated by stars and moonlight, when you take care of the details surrounding the ceremony to ensure both you and your guests comfort and well being, the magic of an evening wedding can be allowed to take hold.
