Nail Art on Display

Aside from the brand new wedding ring that will adorn your hand proclaiming you married for all the world to see, the next most often viewed item that is frequently overlooked is the hand that the ring sits upon and in particular your nails.

Having a well manicured hand, that will be oohed and aahed over, and immortalized forever in the traditional ìringî photo is a must for even the most nail phobic of brides.

If a more natural look is your wish, it is best to have a manicure at least 4-6 weeks before the actual day, giving the aesthetician the opportunity to repair any cuticles or complete any shaping that needs to be done. For the day itself, application of a light colored polish, or a few coats of clear polish results in a soft and simple shine.

If a more elegant sophisticated looks is something you desire, nail enhancements are the perfect way to achieve perfect nails.

If you have never before tried nail enhancements, experts warn that the day of your wedding is not the day to try and get used to them, and recommend that they be applied at least two to three weeks before the big day. With a balance or touch up to be completed a day or two before the wedding.

While bright and dark colors suit the sophistication of nail enhancements, today's bride usually forgoes the typical simple look of nail polish for the much more elegant look of a white-tipped French Manicure with the additional dramatic statement of nail art.

The simple application of a picture or design on the top of the nail can be airbrushed on in a matter of minutes. Boasting a multitude of colors, nail art can be as simple as flowers, or as intricate as interwoven designs, set to match your wedding colors, brand or favors.

Typical embellishments can either include the addition of sparkle to the clear polish, or the embedding of small gem-like diamonds or other precious stones that really make hands stand out.

Whatever you decide on is the best look for you, visiting a manicurist with plenty of time to spare, allows you the greatest options, and will ensure that your hands are looking their silky best on the day where everyone's eyes are drawn to your ring.
