Bridal Showers with a Twist
Setting a theme is one great way of hosting a Bridal Shower. Themes can cater to the bride or bridal couple and have the added bonus of making it easier to plan for decorating favors and accessories.
Among the many ideas for Bridal Shower themes are:
At a Wine Tasting Shower, each guest brings a bottle of wine to stock the couple's wine rack. On a similar theme, a Stock the Bar themed shower has guests bring items from glassware to liqueurs to ensure the newly married couple are set for entertaining.
If the Bride is not known for her cooking skills, a Pantry Shower could be held. The guests provide recipes for a favorite dish while the non-perishable items required to make such a dish are gifted to fill the couple’s pantry for future dinners.
Friends may want to pamper the bride with a Spa Shower, whereby pajamas can be the attire of the evening, manicures can be enjoyed, and gifts can include gift certificates for pre-wedding jitter reducing treatments.
A new trend in Bridal Showers includes the groom at what is known as a 'Jack and Jill' Shower. Sensitive to the needs of both the bride and the groom, a couple’s shower usually focuses on the couple’s honeymoon and provides them with gifts that can be used at their post-wedding destination.
Whatever the theme, make sure the most important thing the bride or bridal couple receives is quality time with friends and family closest to them. A well-stocked pantry or wine cellar is just a plus.
