For many bridal couples their honeymoon, in one short trip can undo all the good they tried to do by planning an eco-friendly wedding. Which is why a number of resorts, hotels and vacation planners are emerging that promote themselves as green honeymoon alternatives.

Whether its an oceanside tent-cottage that has been built by hand to avoid disturbing the natural environment, open-aired rooms cooled by trade winds or solar heated showers combined with biodegradable soaps, the ultimate in eco-relaxation is now out there. With vast hiking trails, wind or paddle powered boats, and horseback riding along sandy beaches, these types of resorts prove that there is fun to be had, without damaging the world we live in.
If you and your spouse are a little more serious about preserving your environment, there are still many places to visit a little closer to home that won't require you to burn jet fuel to get there, though you many still need to burn some fossil fuels as you drive.
