Extreme Getaways
While the bride's entrance is often the most anticipated event of a wedding ceremony (next to the ceremony itself), the getaway is the place where the bride and groom get a chance to make their first grand exit as a married couple.
Instead of a traditional limousine or hired car, look to more extreme modes of transportation for a getaway that will blow them away.
If hosting a winter wedding, a dog sled makes for the utmost in extreme. Filled with warm furs for the bride and groom to settle into, a sled pulled by excited and happy dogs is one exit guests will always remember. No snow? No problem, wheeled versions of the infamous sleds are often available as a substitution.
If dog-pulled transportation is low on your list of exiting animals why not saddle up with a horse and buggy ride or your very own mounts, saddled and ready to ride.
For a larger expense that comes with an equally larger wow factor, you can also take to the air with an airborne exit provided courtesy of a hot air balloon, or the more extravagant ride of a helicopter awaiting your arrival at the end of a red carpet.
Hosting your celebration near water at a beach or lake? Why not try for a water-based exit by way of speedboat, sailboat, rowboat, canoe or even a Dragon Boat.
Sometimes the getaway involves a mere jaunt up the road, instead of one that requires a motorized vehicle, which makes a bicycle built for two or rickshaw the perfect exit strategy.
Should you choose to walk not ride, and want to treat your guests who are tagging along to some additional fun along the way. You might want to supply some music to create your wow factor moment. Bagpipes, Mariachi Bands, trumpeted fanfare or a gospel choir can all lead the way as you strut, waltz or rhumba up the walkway behind them.
A grand exit demands a grand strategy, and while it may be one wedding accessory that sits low on your priority list, the fun and added boost it will give to your day, makes the time put in to planning it all the more worthwhile.
