Individually Sublime

Gifts for attendants are a way of saying "thank you" for helping make your day memorable. Traditionally identical gifts were bought en-masse so that no gift would be of a higher monetary value than another. Today, that trend is being shaken up with the belief that the gift should not be a monetary reflection, but rather a reflection of the relationship you share with that particular attendant. This is especially true in those wedding parties where the gender of the attendants is not a traditional mix, but includes both bridesmen and groomswomen.

By addressing the person rather than the event, you make a gift that will be treasured and not tucked away. Whether a reflection of a private joke or a gift that emphasizes an interest you share, getting just the right gift will remind you of why you've chosen this person to be an attendant in the first place.

When looking for that original idea, don't think just in terms of dust collectors. Think outside the box, to gifts that will keep on giving, like those associated with events. Whether it is a ticket to a concert, theatre or sports event or a season ticket pass to a museum, art gallery, zoo or another place your friend or family member would appreciate. Giving a gift that gives memories and experiences is one of the most welcome ways to say "thank you."

If looking for an object that will have that lasting quality, look for rare editions of a book for the bookworm, a cherished missing piece from a collection for your collector, or a really great vintage bottle of wine for the wine enthusiast.

Whatever gift you give, this is one area more than others, where "it's the thought that counts," never rings truer. To find that ultimately sublime gift for your attendant, put some real thought into the individual who will be receiving it and say thank you the best way you can.
