Introducing - The Wedding Party
Couples have diverse reasons for choosing the people that make up their wedding party. Sometimes it is a friend that has grown up by your side, and sometimes it is a new friend that you have connected deeply with. Sometimes it's a sibling or other relative, and sometimes it is someone you have never met before but have asked as a favor to your future spouse or in-laws.
Your wedding party has been amalgamated and for whatever reasons, many who will be in attendance at your wedding will be unaware of the bonds of friendship or family that have brought you to this special day.
So enlighten them.
One way to tell the story of your friendship or family connection is through your Wedding Website. With a tab that links those interested to a complete story of how your friendship evolved, or what makes you so close in your family. To save time this can be something that you assign to each of your attendants. Not only will you have the content for your site, but you may also learn a little more about why they think you are special too.
If you don't have a Wedding Website, or a number of your guests are technologically impaired, you may want to reproduce your "stories" or an edited down version of them in your wedding program for all to see.
Still a third option is to prepare a presentation that can be played or displayed at your reception. Whether prepared by you as a surprise for your attendants, created together with their input as a treat for your guests, or created by your attendants as a surprise for you. Whichever way it is produced it is sure to bring back many memories that will delight all who view it.
If your wedding is small, and if each of your guests can be include somehow in the presentation, this type of presentation also makes for a great wedding favor. Personal, intimate and more often than not a humorous look at your friendships, overlay the video track with music and make the presentation something guests can listen to on their CD players as well, giving them two favors in one.
Whatever medium you choose be sure to find a way to introduce your wedding attendants to the rest of your guests and let them know the reasons why you chose them for their roles.
