My Fair Venue
For those brides who don't have the option of holding their wedding in a grandiose venue, especially those who live and work in smaller communities where the number of appropriate venues may be limited, there is no need to despair, a beautiful and elegant wedding can still be had.
The first step to creating your ideal venue is to come up with the idea of how you would like the space to look. While you may not be able to do a lot with the outside, deciding on a theme and a color scheme for the inside is the first step needed to create an interior that fulfills all your dreams. Once decided upon, be sure to research those themes and color schemes to see all manner of different ideas through use of the internet, books and magazines until you have the look and feel of the effect you would like to achieve firmly planted in your mind, with a few magazine photos to back that image up.
One of the best ways to achieve a temporary transformation is through the use of rental agencies and other wedding accessory supply venues, and the staff and personal who work there. With pictures in hand of the look you are wanting to convey they can run through their inventory to help you choose the items that will help with your transformation, including: chair coverings and other linens that can transform ordinary tables and chairs into stunning accessories, the use of rolls of tulle and fabric to drape from ceilings and walls, and the use of fairy lights and other lighting effects to take your venue from simple to stunning.
Design is a big aspect of creating such a transformation and if neither you nor members of your family or friends have the ability to work with design, it may be a good idea, depending on your budget, to hire a professional to design the space for you. (Though you can make it less costly by doing all the procuring of supplies and labor yourself).
Once the larger aspects of the tables and general surroundings have been taken care of it is simply a matter of a choosing accessories that will work towards the transformation, drawing eyes away from areas that may detract from your overall theme and to the areas you are looking to highlight.
Dramatic favor presentations, centerpieces, or table settings all work towards this goal, and give your guests a place to focus their attention.
No matter how simple the raw materials you may have to begin with, every possible venue location can be transformed to become the location you deserve on your special day, you need only to make it happen.
