Plan B
The ideal of the perfect wedding, always comes unbidden to our thoughts. The reality is, that nothing is ever truly perfect, and that contingency plans more commonly referred to as a Plan B, must always lie in wait.
Most contingency plans are made in case of inclement weather. If planning to hold your wedding outdoors, a sensible Plan B would be to also search for an indoor venue nearby that can replicate the feel or theme you were searching for. If in a wide open space, far from any alternatives, sometimes the best contingency is to have a tent booked to shelter your guests.
The same holds true for photographs, though an interesting point to note is that often photographs turn out their best when taken on a cloudy dark, perchance even slightly drizzly day. But a Plan B is definitely in order should your drizzle turn into a torrential downpour.
But what about those non-weather related calamities? From dresses destroyed by overzealous alterations, to rented tuxedos that fail to show up. While Plan B's for such big ticket items may not always be as readily available as an alternate venue, playing the game of "what if" with your fiance long before such disasters strike and talking about how you would handle any possible calamities, can offer you a calm spot in a swirling whirl pool of confusions, should the unthinkable occur.
Another tool to have at your disposal for any unexpected occurrences that may rear their ugly heads, is a "goto" person, who has already volunteered to be the person people "goto" for any answers. If you've hired a wedding planner, he or she will generally be the one to whom people turn to, but if not, it's a good idea to decide who amongst your family and friends is calm and level headed enough to be able to weather any storm.
Plan B's in a perfect world would fall into place like pieces of a puzzle, but perfection as you may find out can have many different faces. Rather than get stressed out if something does not go according to plan, do your best to plan for the unexpected and then let all of your worries go. If you are able to look into the eyes of your love and have yourself declared man and wife, that's really all the perfection you'll ever need.
