Those Extra Special People

Many couples today are looking for ideas that will help them honor their grandparents at their wedding.

Whether they have passed on or are still around to celebrate with you personally, there are many such ways with which you can mark that special place they have had and always will have in your life.

If they have passed, a mention of them in your wedding program along with a small special photo of you and your grandparents in happier times, paired with a special quote or poem that has meaning for you can be placed inside the front or back cover.

Even if they are still with you and in attendance of your special day this is still a great way to show them how much you appreciate them and their presence at your wedding and in your life.

Another suggestion that can honor both grandparents and parents alike is to place a copy of their own wedding pictures on a specialty table such as your guest book table or your cake table.  This not only gives them a place of honor in your wedding, it also allows your guests to get a glimpse of your family history.

With couples once again getting married at an earlier age, some may find that their grandparents are still relatively young and in fine health, ready and willing to help in any way.  So what can this new generation of hipster grandparents do to help you plan your wedding?  Absolutely everything, so why not engage them and their talents and have them truly involved instead of just sitting on the sidelines.

Alongside such basics items as inviting your grandmother to shop with you and your entourage for your wedding dress, if either of your grandparents have a special talent or hobby that can be incorporated, there is no better time to let that talent shine and have many hands make light work.

Today's generation of grandparents are active forces in your life, why not let them equally be an active force in your wedding. To make your wedding extra special - make a place in your wedding for those extra special people, your grandparents.
