Warehouse Operations Manager

Weddingstar is a global leader in the wedding accessories industry, with online wholesale and retail sales to over 50 countries worldwide. We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager for our Dunmore, Alberta Operation.

The Warehouse Operations Manager reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for identifying, implementing and overseeing Warehouse Operations performance and inventory management for all divisions of the company.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage inventory of the organization to meet demand history - including warehouse and distribution operations
    • Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers, both domestic and overseas. Develop and maintain positive relationships with new and potential suppliers.
    • Co-ordinate with designers, suppliers and government agencies to ensure the proper classification of new and existing products
    • Product procurement, manage purchasing and inventory maintenance while ensuring best practices for cost control, on-time delivery and prompt reconciliation of all shortages and deficiencies.
    • Oversee the systems and processes that drive fulfillment – including internal manufacturing and assembly operations. Prioritizing on time delivery in full while managing costs and maintaining a safe work environment
    • Champion operational excellence and lean initiatives to standardize work, improve productivity, output, and control costs
    • Work effectively as part of a management team and liaise with cross functional partners including product development, finance, and sales
    • Organize and direct workflow for satisfying production requirements in a cost-efficient manner
    • Manage warehouse 50-75 personnel and their activity, including overseeing hiring, terminating, reviewing performance and coaching
    • Maintain employee safety and morale by fostering a safe, comfortable and efficient work environment.
    • Evaluate shipping and delivery via common carriers; perform cost analyses and negotiate pricing for shipping services and common carriers. Evaluate and negotiate pricing for warehouse equipment, maintenance contracts, packing supplies and other warehousing expenses

Qualifications:

    • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Business Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum 3 years progressive warehouse management experience
    • Experience with US Customs requirements for imports to the US, including CTPAT protocol, FDA and APHIS legislation
    • Experience in production scheduling, capacity planning, process improvement and inventory management
    • Experience developing and enforcing safety policy
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Weddingstar Inc. is seeking full-time and part-time Personalization Assistants to work in our Medicine Hat, AB location. Day, Night and Evening shifts available. Personalization Assistants are responsible for but not limited to: picking orders, small order packaging, personalization of orders (i.e. embroidery, engraving, napkin stamping, cake topper painting, glass printing etc.) Applicants must be able to work in a team environment. Experience is not necessary as on-site training is provided.

Qualifications:

    - Diploma or Degree in Visual Communications or Graphic Design
    - Minimum 2 years of design experience
    - Excellent design capabilities and typographic skills
    - Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro)
    - Ability to work well within a team environment and meet strict deadlines
    - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a productive manner
    - Experience with product design, print production and/or illustration considered an asset
